In Uganda, more than 50% of the population makes less than $41 per month. Most Ugandans live hand-to-mouth, meaning what someone earns in a given day, is immediately spent on what they need to eat that night, with nothing left over. It happens all too often that parents are unable to provide meals for their children, people die due to not being able to pay for medical care, and families are unable to send their kids to school.
